I had the same problem where it started OK, ran a high idle, came down to a normal idle for 5 minutes, then died. Carefully look down the throat of the carb.My girlfriends 1 cylinder vertical Briggs did have an issue with the fuel solenoid weeping gas into the cylinder when shut down.
