It helps that Zion is an hour ahead so leaving at 7:30a from the hotel in UT, was really 6:30a in AZ. It was a very busy, but incredible day. I'm not sure when or how long it lasted, but that may have been one reason the east entrance was closed. They also closed it when they felt the traffic in the park was too heavy during the memorial day weekend.Just to clarify a couple of things. Zion doesn't close because of flash flooding, but the Narrows might. That is only one hike within Zion, there are many other trails you can hike that don't have any issues with flooding.
