Yup you're right. The little tic mark at about the half way point on the sight glass is your fill line. Make sure you get the correct side oil. As you can see, the cap is on the left side so this is for left side stators. It's not really a distinct line..it's more like 2 little notches next to the sight glass.Don't quite understand the responses you are getting so far, no your stator should not be leaking if it's just sitting there your gasket might be leaking or you might have a hole in your stator cover, (it will pour out oil when you pull your stator cover off though. You can use semi or full synthetic at this point. I would use a full syn after the 600 mile break-in on a new bike. You don't need that heavy weight oil, 20w50. Stick with the 10w40 full or semi syn. Oil selection basically comes down to personal preference, but I went with the Amsoil product. All tests and reviews that I have read seem to put the Amsoil on top. Decide for yourself.

Start bike for 2 minutes and turn off. I hold bike straight up, after it's sat 5 minutes. and fill to middle /top line in glass while holding bike straight up.
